Marilyn Jean Stander was born on September 15, 1940 in Weeping Water, Nebraska to John A. and Lillian (Palecek) Stander. She passed away on Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 1 day.

Marilyn was raised in on the family farm north of Weeping Water, Nebraska. She worked for JB's Restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska for several years, volunteered her time cleaning at the Lofte Community Theatre and was a loving caregiver to her mother.

She is survived by her sisters: Regina Colbert and husband Reginald of Weeping Water, NE; Nancy Hakenkamp and husband Richard of Lincoln, NE; Nieces and Nephews: Larry & Nadene Colbert of Bellevue, NE; Jean Wymore of Syracuse, NE; Kevin & Betty Colbert of Weeping Water, NE; Don & Susie Colbert of Weeping Water, NE; Vicki Hakenkamp of Lincoln, NE; Joseph & Sandra Hakenkamp of Lincoln, NE; Gary & Diane Hakenkamp of LaVista, NE. Many great nieces and nephews also survive her.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Manley, Nebraska.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 19th from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Manley.

Interment will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial may be directed to the Lofte Community Theatre or St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
