Martha L. "Marti" Neumann, age 61, of Louisville, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on May 16, 1964, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Larry D. and Patsy R. (Gourley) Nelsen, Marti's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering devotion.
Marti was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished sister. She leaves behind a heartbroken yet supportive family, along with countless friends whose lives she touched deeply. Her blunt honesty and unapologetic openness were as unique and unforgettable as she was. Marti's presence was a force of love, strength, and sincerity—one that will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A proud graduate of Plattsmouth High School in 1982, Marti embarked on a journey that would lead her to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she met her soulmate, Tim Neumann, in October 1984. The couple married on May 21, 1988, and together they built a beautiful life, first in Chicago in 1989 and then in New Jersey in 1994. For over two decades, they raised their three beloved children, Melissa, Jake, and Luke, before returning to their Nebraska roots in 2021 to be closer to family and friends.
Her life revolved around her family and community, where she made a lasting impact to those around her. She enjoyed active involvement at Faith Lutheran Church in NJ where she taught Sunday School and contributed to various service projects.
Marti was also a passionate advocate for the Children's Tumor Foundation and enjoyed embracing the pursuits and ambitions of her children. She had a cherished ability to stabilize those around her, providing strength and motivation in times of need. An avid dog-lover, she adored her boxers, who brought her immense joy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tim Neumann of Louisville; her children, Melissa Neumann of Omaha, Jake Neumann of Houston, and Luke Neumann of Louisville; her sister, Ember Nelsen and Ron O'Neill of Omaha; Dan and LaDonna Neumann of Vincennes, IN, Randy and Diane Neumann of Omaha, NE, and Jen Rose of Louisville, NE; along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward. Marti was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Larry and Patsy Nelsen.
