Martha Staben was born March 29, 1916, in Lyons, Nebraska, to Henry & Pauline (Zander) Meyer. She left us to be with Alvin, on July 22, 2010, at the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 23 days.

Martha during her younger days she was a Wielder and a Riveter, she married Alvin Staben, on January 1, 1938, at First Lutheran Church, in Omaha, and to this union they raised 2 Children Robert and Ruth. She was a member of Glendale Club, and a Birthday Club. Martha & Alvin had operated a Grocery Store, (for more than 20 years), in Elkhorn before moving to Louisville.

Martha is survived by her son & daughter-in-law Robert & Christy Staben, of Lousiville, NE sisters Lydia Canstein, of Florida, and Ruth Narducci, of Omaha, sister-in-law Therese Meyer, of Omaha, grandchildren and spouses, Robert Jr. & Jodie Staben, Erich & Jessica Staben, Daniel & Malinie Staben, Sara & Dan Muntz, Beth Wood, Nate & Amber Wood, and Laura & David Harris, 17 great grandchildren, many relatives and friends.

Martha is preceded in Death by her parents, husband Alvin Staben, daughter Ruth & son-in-law John Wood.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 26, 2010 at 10:30 A.M., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, at 36712 Church Road, Louisville, NE, with burial in the Church Cemetery. The family suggest Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

VISITATION will be Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 12:00 Noon, until 9:00 P.M. and family will be at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. to greet friends
