Marvin Eugene Kupke, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, at the Louisville Care Center in Louisville, Nebraska. He was born on Thursday, November 7th, 1935, in Murdock, Nebraska to Louis A. and Elsie A (Jochim) Kupke.

Marvin graduated from Murdock High School in 1953 and proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Berlin, Germany, from 1958 to 1960. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Baker on January 29, 1977 at the Methodist Church in Louisville, Nebraska.  He worked as a welder for Roloff Construction for 15 years. Following retirement, Marvin continued to contribute his skills by doing part-time welding for twelve years, assisting with many projects for the Trinity Lutheran Church and local farmers.

A dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Murdock, Nebraska, Marvin was also a member of the Louisville American Legion Post #353. He was passionate about Husker volleyball, men's basketball, baseball, and softball. Above all, Marvin cherished spending time with his grandchildren and took great joy in watching them play sports. He especially delighted in watching his grandsons Derek and Dylan's sporting events and his granddaughters Ava and Calla's ballet performances, including seven years of their participation in the Nutcracker.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Kupke; his sons, Kent (Marcia) Sutton and Kevin (Sarah) Kupke; and his four grandchildren, Derek (Jill) Sutton, Dylan (Jordan) Sutton, Ava Kupke, and Calla Kupke. He also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Leo, Lucy, and Stanley Sutton, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Louis Andrew Kupke, his mother, Elsie Anna Olga Kupke, his sister Janet, and brother-in-law Wayne Wendt.

A prayer service will be held on Friday, December 20th, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church followed by visitation until 8:00 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials in honor of Marvin may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church.
