Marvin Schacht was born November 19, 1916, in rural Cook, Nebraska, to Ernest and Freda (Holscher) Schacht. He passed away, Sunday, September 7, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 9 month, and 19 days.

Marvin married Vivian Vermule, and to this union they raised 3 children, Diane, Anita, and Joycelin. He taught for many years and 9 years also a Superintendent. Marvin was a member of the Syracuse Lions Club, Mt. Moriah Lodge #57 A.F. & A.M., Palmyra O.E.S. #257, member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage) Men's Fellowship of the Church, member of Phi Delta Kappa, was a Sunday School Teacher, member of AARP, and member of NSEA.

Marvin is survived by daughters Diane Schacht, of Syracuse, NE, Anita and husband Ron Bowman, of Hooper, NE, and Joycelin Schacht, of Beatrice, NE, 3 grandchildren Elizabeth and husbanc Ken Halvorsen, of Lincoln, NE Erik and wife Crystal Bowman, of Omaha, NE, Alicia and husband Erich Schafer, of Hooper, NE 1 great grandson Jordon Satter, of Lincoln, NE, 1 sister Elvera Desmond, of Miami, FL, along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Vivian.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage), Rural Cook, Nebraska, with burial at the Church Cemetery, and memorials are directed to the families choice.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 9, from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M., with the family greeting friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 6:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M..
