Obituary
Marvin Wellensiek was born, August 14, 1925, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Ida Wellensiek. He passed away, on August 3, 2010, at the Community Memorial Hospital, in Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 84 years, 11 month, and 20 days.
Marvin married Leela Mandery, on August 17, 1952 at St. Paul's U.C.C. in Cook, Nebraska, and to this union they had a daughter, Debra. In May of 1995 Leela passed away. October 7, 1995 Marvin married Jean Hackler in Grove, Oklahoma. He loved farming and working his cattle. Loved to wear his John Deere hat; catching up on the local information while having coffee with all his friends. It is reported that he had several pickups which he had driven over 200,000 miles each. He was a loving man who devoted his life to his faith, his family, and his farm.
Marvin is survived by his wife Jean Wellensiek of Syracuse, NE; daughter Debra Kay Bowman of California; Step-daughters Debbie and husband Keenan Knopik of Plattsmouth, NE; Phyllis Peterson of Omaha, NE; Jennyfer and husband Glen Foss of Cook, NE; his twin sister Margaret Mann of Houston TX; Nephews Greg and wife Michelle Mann of Syracuse, NE; John and wife Deanna Mann and family of Houston, TX; and Jamie and wife Shannon Mann and family of Houston, TX.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Leela (1995)
Honorary Pallbearers are Nephews -Greg Mann, John Mann, Jamie Mann, grandchildren - Brandon Rieke, Megan Tellez, Michael Rieke, Kameron Foss, and Erik Foss
Memorial Services for Marvin will be Saturday August 7, 2010 at 3:00 P.M at St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage), rural Cook, Nebraska, with a Lunch to follow. Burial in the St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery, will be at a later time. In lieu of flowers, family suggests Memorials be sent to St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Osage).
VISITATION will be Friday, August 6, 2010 from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. to sign the Book, No Viewing due to Cremation, all at the funeral home chapel.
