Mary C. Klingsick, 79, of Fremont, formerly of Syracuse, passed away on June 4, 2026, at Methodist Fremont Health.
Mary was born on April 17, 1947, in Pawnee City, to Leonard and Adelaide (Rucker) Gyhra. She was united in marriage to Ervin Klingsick on January 22, 1977, in Steinauer.
Mary dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurse and therapy aide at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was a faithful member of the Altar Society at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, where she volunteered generously. Mary was also an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and enjoyed supporting her team.
She is survived by her husband Ervin; sons, Allen (Jaron Luttich) Klingsick and Dan (Kristin) Klingsick; granddaughters, Kailey and Danica Klingsick; and siblings and in-laws, Roselyn (Charles) Jasa, Erma Gyhra, Dave Gyhra, Emilie Hogy, Ruth (Reid) Goodwin, Frank Lierz, and Fran Herrick, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings and in-laws, Don and Jeanette Nerud, Robert Gyhra, Lawrence Gyhra, JoAnn Lierz, Lonnie Herrick, and Alice Gyhra.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, at St. Paulinus Catholic Church, with a livestream available on the St. Paulinus Catholic Church Facebook page. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home in Syracuse.
Burial will take place at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Steinauer.
Memorials are suggested to the Syracuse Rescue Squad or St. Paulinus Catholic Church.
