Mary Ann Sliger, 68 of Syracuse passed away on July 30, 2016 at the Syracuse Community Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 27, 1948 in Mingo, IA to Paul G. & Lora F. (Day) Nell.

Mary married Robert E. Sliger on January 3, 1966 and they raised 4 children together. She worked at Wheaton Glass Company for 23 years and then at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her Children: Marcia (Don) Scheinost of Syracuse, Ann (Brian) Guenther of West Point, NE, Paul (Cheryl) Sliger of Syracuse, Susan (Lonnie) Obermeyer of Syracuse; 13 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Siblings: Jim (Pat) Nell of Ankeny, IA, Jane Hopkins of Marshalltown, IA, Tony Nell of Colfax, IA; Brother-in-law: Ralph Owens of Mingo, IA; Sister-in-law: Verna Nell; also many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by Robert Sliger, Parents, Great Grandson: Skylar Houston, Step Granddaughter: Amanda Scheinost, Sister: Nelpha Owens, Brothers: Kenny, John & Joe Nell, Brother-in-law: Ronnie Hopkins.

Honorary pallbearers are Amanda Houston, Melissa Maule, Jeremy Guenther, Emily Guenther, Blake Guenther, Nicholas Eisenhauer and Jacob Eisenhauer.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday August 4th at 2:00 P.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. Inurnment will be at Park Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 7-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
