Mavis Ruth Mohlman, 89 of Wayne, NE, formerly of Waverly, passed away on December 28, 2019. She was born on March 14, 1930 to Fred and Ida (Steinkuhler) Eisenhauer in Burr. Mavis was baptized on April 20, 1930 and confirmed on March 25, 1945, both at the Hope Lutheran Church in Burr. After graduating high school, she worked as a telephone operator for the Lincoln Phone Company in Syracuse.

Mavis married Dick F. Mohlman on January 3, 1952 at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse. The couple lived in various parts of the country during Dick's military service. After completing military service, they moved to Milford where Dick pursued an electrical degree. Their next move brought them to Waverly where they established roots and lived for almost 60 years.

Dick and Mavis owned Mohlman Electric in Waverly. After getting the kids off to school, Mavis worked in their business as the receptionist and bookkeeper. Mavis was a homemaker and loved serving others, serving the church and community in numerous ways. A favorite memory from one of her kids: When mom was in her 80's, I called her. Mom said she only had a minute to talk because she was going to Senior Diners. I said, "I'm so glad you are getting out to have a good meal." Mom said, "Oh, I'm not going to eat, I'm going to serve."

Mavis' confirmation memory verse was "Blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it." Luke 11:28. She loved and served the Lord her entire life. Mavis taught her children that we are nothing without Jesus Christ. All that we have, all that we are, all that we need comes from God. We were blessed to have a mother who raised us to know the true living God by setting an example of unwavering faith.

Mavis is survived by her husband, Dick, and five children: Dennis (Lucy) Mohlman of Ogallala, NE, Connie (Lyle) Reinhardt of Aurora, CO, Larry Mohlman of Lincoln, NE, Diane Mohlman of Lincoln, NE and Cindy (Craig) Evans of Wayne, NE; Grandchildren: Joshua Mohlman, Jennifer (Sean) Grimes, Jeremy Boon, Jake Crosby (Jenny Tran, fiance') and Tasha (Nick) Forsyth; Step-grandchildren: Jennifer Reinhardt, Jessica (Mike) Turnquist, Samara, Camryn and Layne Evans. 5 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. Sister: Iona Pieper of Lincoln and Brother: Joy (Betty) Eisenhauer of Fish Creek, WS; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Peace Lutheran Church in Waverly, NE. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, Rev. Neil Wheeler officiating. A light lunch will follow.
