Mervin J. Carman, 92 of Syracuse passed away on July 5, 2016 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse. He was born on May 1, 1924 to John & Ella (Schrader) Carman in Brock, NE.

Mervin married Eldora Ehmke on April 24, 1945 at the United Methodist Church in Cook and to this union they had 2 daughters Karen & Shellee. Eldora passed away in 1981. On October 8, 1983 Mervin married Marian Salzman. He enjoyed woodworking, dancing and gardening.

Mervin is survived by Daughters: Karen (Roger) Pieper of Nebraska City, Shellee (Dale) Kuhlenengel of Syracuse; Grandchildren: Tom (Shauna) Pieper, Stephen Pieper, Kurt & friend Kelli Carper, Kim Kuhlenengel-Davey & Rob Davey, Kevin & friend Amanda Ulrich; Great Grandchildren: Shelby & fiancé Chris, Taylor, Eli, Will, Lauren; Sisters-in-law: Janis Ehmke, Darlene Carman; Brother-in-law: Eugene Kuehn; Special friend: Virginia Frerichs; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1st wife: Eldora, 2nd wife: Marian, Brother: Duane.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 9th at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse. Burial will be at Cook cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 8 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.
