Michael Don Buchanan was born on April 21, 1960 at the Syracuse Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, NE to Donald & Delores (Kehlenbeck) Buchanan. He passed away on December 30, 2014 at his home in Douglas, NE.

Mike graduated from Douglas high school in 1978. He attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice earning an Associate's Degree in Carpentry Construction. He was employed for over 30 years at Sysco Lincoln Inc.

Mike enjoyed gardening and canning which he shared with friends & family. He also enjoyed fishing, sitting around the campfire, carpentry work and making home improvements. He was proud of his 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 waxing it up and taking it for a drive on good weather days. He was an avid Husker fan and he loved spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his mother Delores Buchanan of Douglas, NE; sister Bonnie (Roger) Stott of Walton, NE; brother James (Gail) Buchanan of Douglas, NE; brother Clint (Pat) Buchanan of Crete, NE; nieces & nephews Nate (Amy) Buchanan, Karina Stott, Nicole Stott, Heath Buchanan, Blade Buchanan, Chance Buchanan & his beloved dog Millie and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Donald Buchanan, nephew Christopher Buchanan.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 2 from 1 P.M. until 8 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Private services will be held at a later time.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 3 at 2 P.M. at Scott's Place the Legacy in Sterling, NE.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
