Michael W. (Mike) Malone 81, Palmyra, died at his home in Palmyra Saturday, September 29, 2007. Born November 2, 1925 at Palmyra to Thomas E. and Ellen Smith Malone.

Mike and Shirley Douglas were married May 21, 1949 at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Palmyra. He was a farmer, retired Northern Natural Gas employee, and school bus driver.

Mike was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church where he served as a Lector, Song Leader, Trustee and sang in the choir. He was also a 4-H Leader.

Survivors: wife, Shirley Malone of Palmyra; son, Jayme Malone and wife, Shelley, of Lincoln; daughters, Maureen Hoffman and husband, D.C., of Lone Tree, Colo., Melanie Malone of Grand Island; grandchildren: Marci Malone of Lincoln, Ryan Malone of Valley City, N.D., Lauren Hoffman of Lone Tree, Colo.

Preceded in death by: parents; infants: Joan, Timothy, William, Kevin and Samuel; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Palmyra, Nebraska with Father Chris Barak officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home and then will resume at 6:30 P.M. at the church with a Rosary service at 7:30 P.M. The family will be present from 6:30 until the Rosary to greet friends.

Interment will be in St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery in Palmyra.

Memorials are suggested to St. Leo's Catholic Church or the Family of Mike Malone.
