Michael D. Miller, 77, of Louisville, Nebraska, passed away surrounded by his family on August 28th, 2024, in Omaha, Nebraska. Born on August 6,1947 in Omaha, Nebraska, Michael was the son of Morris and Eileen (Schroeder) Miller.
Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and continued his service with the Nebraska Army National Guard for an additional 18 years. He worked as a Journeyman Lineman for Omaha Public Power District for over 25 years. He was united in marriage to Janice (Cookie) Peters on June 20, 1970.
An avid outdoorsman, Michael had a passion for hunting, fishing, dog training and trap shooting. He was an active member of the Louisville Gun Club, Papillion Gun Club, Ashland Gun Club, (ATA) Amateur Trapshooting Association, Ducks Unlimited, and Nebraska Nut Growers Association. His hobbies reflected his deep connection to nature and joy in outdoor activities.
Michael is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Christopher (Sunny) Miller of Herndon, VA, Courtney (Matthew) Kruntorad of Minnetonka, MN, and Patrick (Tina) Miller of Norfolk, NE; Seven grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe, Liam, Elam, Willow, Reed and Clover; sisters, Marshia (Larry) Meisinger of LaVista and Deborah (Michiel) Fontenot of Papillion, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.
A private service with military honors will be held at the Omaha National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Springfield Community Center in Springfield, NE.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael's name may be directed to the Ashland Gun Club, Cystic Fibrosis Omaha Chapter or Ducks Unlimited Schuyler Chapter.
