Obituary

Michol "Beth" Lydon age 73, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at Josie Harper House in Omaha, Nebraska. Beth was born on August 30, 1949, in Adair County, Iowa to her loving parents Martin Edwin and Agnes Mary (Eagan) Lydon.

Beth grew up in rural Stuart, Iowa. She enjoyed treasured memories with her big family on "The Farm." Beth enjoyed ice skating, horseback riding and dancing. Growing up she was active in numerous organizations including 4-H, forensics, and choir. Beth graduated from Greenfield High, Greenfield Iowa in 1967. Beth was active in politics, especially in the 1970's. She was involved in both Kennedy's presidential campaigns. Beth's most personal political support was working on her father Martin Edwin Lydon's campaigns for the Adair, Iowa county board.

Beth continued her pursuit for higher education. She received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at The College of Saint Mary, Omaha, Nebraska in 1971. Education was always near and dear to her heart, especially English Language Arts. Beth taught elementary education for over ten years which included schools in Mitchell, South Dakota and Papillion, Nebraska. She especially enjoyed her time at St. Columbkille Catholic Church and School as both a teacher and a parishioner. Beth was a manager for Texaco, LaVista for over seven years. She then moved to telecommunications for an extended period in both Nebraska (Info, U.S.A.) and Kansas (Pearson). She loved the social part of her job and loved to connect with people.

Beth adored her friends and big family. She spoke of her crowning achievement as her three children, and the absolute lights of her life were her grandchildren. She shared, "that becoming a grandma was the best gig ever." Beth was passionate about her time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to attend their sports and activities; she helped them with homework, read, sang, shared jokes, and loved completing puzzles with them. Beth adored her conversations, hugs, and special time with each, and every one of them.
It was truly what she lived for.

Beth is survived by her daughter, Jill (Ryan) Domnick of KS, sons, Wes (Bobbie) Dickey of Louisville, NE, Josh (Wendy) Dickey of Plattsmouth, NE, grandchildren, Skyler (fiancée Bree Prokop) Deloske, Blake Dickey,
Jonah Domnick, Jocelyn Domnick, Cameron Kolbe, Jameson Ristow-Dickey, Margaret Ristow-Dickey, Abigail Ristow-Dickey, sisters Colleen (Bill) Gift of IL, Jean (Jerry) Kranzler of IA, Ann (Drew) Munch of MI, Linda (Glen) Sisco of WY, Janet (Robert) Dyer of OH. She is also survived by countless beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Edwin & Agnes Mary Lydon, grandson, Joseph Dickey, sister, Jane Lydon and brother, Martin Lydon.
