Mike Bose from Avoca died peacefully at his home on Sunday Evening July 14, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ab and Edna, brothers Gib and Gaylord, and In-laws Vern and Patty Dettmer.

Mike is survived by his wife Nancy, Daughters Nikki Biesterfeld (Jamion) and Nandi Bruns (Chad), grandchildren Jade, Cash, Carter, Neva, Cordale, Amyra, and Dametre, Brother Leon Bose (Renee'), and many other beloved extended family members.

Mike married Nancy in 1974 at First Lutheran Church in Avoca NE. He lived in Avoca his entire life minus the 2 years he was in the Army. He retired from Ash Grove Cement Co and for the next 10 years he worked at his two retirement dream jobs, mowing the Cass County Fairgrounds and harvesting with "his boys" at Haveman Farms.

Mike loved his family and friends and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. He was passionate about serving his country and was a proud veteran. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 237 where he achieved his personal goal of being Sgt. of Arms. His fellow comrades and service buddies meant the world to him. He spent all of his free time cheering on his grandkids or having "pops" with his friends. His love for life, his commitment to his family, and his pride in his community will be sorely missed. There will never be another "Mike Bose from Avoca".

A memorial service for Mike will be held Friday, July 19th at 1 PM at the Cass County Fairgrounds, located at 8420 144th St. Weeping Water, NE. Graveside services will be at 10 AM Friday, July 19th at the Omaha National Cemetery. The graveside service and memorial service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Facebook page.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 18th from 5 – 7 PM at the Cass County Fairgrounds, with family present.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 50 Mile March or the American Legion Post #237. Click Here for a link to Nikki's 50 Mile March Page.
