Mildred Anna Minnie (Buchholz) Werner was born on May 7, 1931 in Otoe, NE to John & Lydia (Neemann) Buchholz. She passed peacefully at home on Sunday November 4, 2012 at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 28 days.

Mildred was confirmed on May 20, 1945 at the First Lutheran Church (North Branch), Avoca, NE. Her confirmation verse was Matthew 28:20 Lo, I am with you, Even unto the end of the world.

She married on October 1, 1950 to Kenneth Werner and they worked together for 40 years on their dairy farm. She dedicated her life to her family as they were the most important thing in her life. Mildred enjoyed making quilts for all her grandchildren & great grandchildren and always kept chocolate chip cookies in the cookie jar for her family. She loved to work in her yard & garden and playing cards with her brother, sisters, spouses & many friends.

She was a member of the Sundowners Extension Club for 48 years, Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary member and volunteer, Co-Superintendent of Food Preservation – Otoe County Fair, member of Luther Memorial church, served in the altar guild, co-chair of the service group, assisted with blanket work day & church volunteer.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Werner, Children – Jerry and Rhae Werner, Dennis and Janelle Werner, Arlyn and Julie Werner, Randy and Wendy Werner all of Syracuse

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Nebraska. Burial will follow at Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M and Thursday from 9 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Visitation will start again at 5:30 at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church with a Prayer Service starting at 6:30 P.M. The family will greet friends at the church.
