Minnie Hespen was born October 27, 1911, in Smartville, Nebraska, to Christian and Ella (Petersen) Dorsch. She passed away, August 13, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, in Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 96 years, 9 months, and 17 days.

Minnie married William Schwartman, and to this union they raised 9 Children, Wilma, Phyllis, Jane, Mary, Bill, Ronnie, Gary, Roger, and John. Her husband William died September 28th, 1958, Minnie married Lenhard Hespen and were together until his death September 14, 1991. She loved her Flower & Vegetable Gardens & Embroidery.

Minnie is survived by her children Wilma Masters of Lincoln, NE; Phyllis Short of Henderson, NV; Jane Clark and husband Gary of Flat Rock, IL; Mary Kastanek and husband James of Syracuse, NE; Bill Schwartman of Elmwood, NE; Ronnie Schwartman and wife Onalee of Elmwood, NE; Gary Schwartman and wife Alice of Weeping Water, NE; Roger Schwartman of Syracuse, NE; John Schwartman and wife Karen of Unadilla, NE; 13 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and Numerous Nieces, and Nephews.

Minnie is preceded in death by her husbands, William Schwartman (9/28/58) & Lenhard Hespen (9/14/91), Son-in-law: Larry Masters, Grandsons: Kennon Schwartman & Jay Short, 2 Brothers Carl & Fred Dorsch,and Infant Annie Dorsch.

Funeral Services for Minnie will be Monday, August 18, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, 1162 Mohawk, Syracuse, Nebraska, with Burial at 12:30 at the Eagle Cemetery, rural Eagle, Nebraska.

Pallbearers will be Jon Carlson, Jim Ulrich, Jason Kastanek, Gary Schwartman, Jr., Chad Long, Dave Sacks, Rick Short, Harold Schwartman
