Mitzi Rae Doan, age 63 of Nebraska City passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at Prestige Care of Nebraska City, NE. She was born on November 17, 1961, in Syracuse, NE, to Daniel and Melva Bernice (Jennings) Doan.

A proud veteran of the Army, Mitzi carried her dedication into her career as a guard at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. She was known as an avid collector of anything and everything and also enjoyed fishing and camping. Mitzi also enjoyed western novels, TV westerns, puzzle books, adult coloring books, and Bingo during her time in assisted living and nursing homes.

Mitzi is survived by her sisters Marva Jean Harrell of Florida, Debora Jones & David Folkman of Colorado, and Patricia & Rick Cook of Lincoln along with her brother-in-law Richard Watson of Ashland. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Sharon Leachman, Kay Hazlett and Catherine Watson and nephew Shawn Burchett.

In accordance with Mitzi's wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held.
