Myrna Lorraine Forbes, 81, formerly of Syracuse.

Myrna Lorraine (Banta) Forbes was born in Riverton, Wyoming on July 30, 1937 to Elmer and Eunice Banta. She attended elementary school in Sioux County, Nebraska and graduated from high school in Morrill, Nebraska in 1955. After teaching school in Buffalo, Wyoming, for one year she boarded the train to Lincoln to enroll at Union College in 1956. There she met Frank Forbes and they were married in Torrington, Wyoming on October 27, 1957.

As Frank completed his college, their son Brian was born, soon followed by son Bruce and daughter Brenda. After living a few years in Wyoming the family moved to Tennessee, where for many years Myrna taught children's Sabbath School and helped with Vacation Bible School while raising their own children and caring for 16 foster children at different times.

Myrna loved to grow and arrange beautiful flowers. She was a good cook and homemaker. Nothing was more important to her than her family and her faith.

Myrna passed away on April 27, 2019 at The Waterford in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, Frank Forbes Jr., son Brian Forbes (Kiley), son Bruce Forbes (Lisa), daughter Brenda Dickerson (Gary), granddaughter Kelti Barcelow (Travis), grandson James Dickerson, two brothers, two sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 30th at 1:00 P.M. at the Park Hill cemetery in Syracuse.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Myrna on Tuesday, April 30th at 3:00 P.M. at the Piedmont Park Church located at 4801 A St. Lincoln, NE.
