Myrna (Ingram) Smith was born March 20, 1934 to Edward and Mabel (Ward) Ingram of Louisville Nebraska. She passed away on September 8, 2010 at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, Arizona.

Myrna began teaching shortly after high school in a one-room school house outside Louisville. She attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she earned undergraduate and masters degrees in education. The family later moved to the Washington DC suburbs where Myrna continued her education and earned a Doctorate of Educational Administration from Vanderbilt University. Myrna specialized in working with students with learning disabilities. She served as a special education program coordinator for Fairfax County Virginia Public Schools, and later as an elementary school principal before retiring in 1989. Myrna moved to Arizona in 2003 to enjoy retirement and be near her lifelong friend Shirley Rish. She was soon joined there by her daughter Cheryl Hanna, granddaughter Katie Hanna and brother Paul Ingram.
Her eldest daughter, Linda Rhynehart preceded her in death in 2003. Myrna will be laid to rest next to her daughter Linda and her parents Edward and Mabel Ingram at the Glendale Cemetery in Louisville, Nebraska.
