Myron Leon Ondracek, 83, of Cedar Creek, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025. He was born on June 20, 1942, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Anton and Agnes (Bohaboj) Ondracek.
Myron graduated from Columbus High School in 1960 and then attended UNO before being united in marriage on January 11, 1964 to Patricia Wisecup. They made their home in Fort Calhoun where they raised their children, Mary Lea, Sandi, Michael, and Cyndi. Myron dedicated 31 years of his life to Union Pacific Railroad, where he was respected for his commitment and expertise in the marketing field of liquid chemicals. He forged many lasting relationships during his tenure in Fort Calhoun, which reflected his generous spirit and unwavering work ethic. In 2004 they retired to a lake home at Cedar Creek.
Myron was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, gardening and his annual fishing trips to Canada throughout the past 50 years. He loved Husker Football, playing pitch with friends and family and spending time with his family. Although he was not a veteran, he always supported veteran organizations especially the Wounded Warriors.
Myron was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ondracek of Cedar Creek, NE, and their four children: Mary (Lester) Bain of Omaha, NE, Michael (Lisa) Ondracek of Paradise Valley, AZ, Sandi (Tim Pearson) Rippe of Syracuse, NE and Cyndi (John) Tyler of Lincoln, NE. He took great pride in his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, Anton and Agnes Ondracek and his faithful dog companion, Fred.
A visitation with family greeting friends will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Springfield, NE followed by a Prayer Service to start at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Springfield, NE, Monday, October 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery near Louisville, NE.
Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
