OBITUARY
MYRTLE LUELLA (WENDT) ZIEGENBEIN

Myrtle Luella (Wendt) Ziegenbein of Murdock, NE was the daughter of August F. "Gus" and Martha (Thiemann) Wendt. She was born on August 15, 1911 at her home near Murdock, NE. She entered eternal life on October 30, 2007 at Louisville, NE at the age of 96 years, 2 months and 15 days. She was baptized into the Lutheran Faith, and remained a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Louisville, NE throughout her life. After the Love of her Lord, was her love of her family.

Myrtle graduated from Murdock High School, in 1929, and was employed by Corn Growers State Bank at Murdock, NE and served as Postmaster at Memphis, NE, from 1974 until her retirement in 1987. She was a recipient of the AkSarBen Pioneer Farm Family award in. She was an accomplished pianist, and enjoyed her hobbies of cross stitching and knitting. She particularly enjoyed making items to give to family members and friends.

She married Carl W. Ziegenbein on January 14, 1956.

She is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, Dorothy Stock, Murdock, NE, Marion Wendt and his wife Shirley, Tecumseh, NE, Shirley Rieke, Arvada, CO, Janet Wendt, Murdock, Marvin Wendt, Murdock, NE, Lyle Wendt, and his wife Mary, Murdock, NE, Doris Keetle and her husband Roland, Ralston, NE Lloyd Wendt, Murdock, and 16 great-nieces and nephews, 28 great-great nieces and nephews, and one great-geat-great niece, her stepson Randall Ziegenbein and his wife Valerie of Sacramento, CA, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death her parents, husband Carl, brothers and their wives Henry and Elsie Jane, August and Pearl, Herman and Else, Fred and Lela, Louie and Iola Wendt, and her nephew Wayne Wendt.

Visitation: Thursday from 12 noon until 9 P.M. but the casket will be closed, NO VIEWING.
