Naomi A. Meyer was born on September 8, 1922 in Burr, Nebraska to Adolph and Mary (Beckmann) Julifs. She passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 9 days.

Naomi lived in the Burr area her entire life and graduated from Burr High School. She later attended Peru State College. Besides being a homemaker, Naomi taught school for many years. She was united in marriage on June 1, 1949 at Hope Lutheran Church in Burr, NE to John A. Meyer. The ceremony was a double wedding which they shared with Naomi's sister, Elaine and husband Bernard Bliefernich.

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Burr where she was involved with the WELCA, quilters, taught Sunday School and sang in the Church Choir.

Naomi is survived by her daughter, Barbara Meyer and special friend Kevin Griffith of Kansas City, MO; son, John Meyer and wife Denise of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter, Tanner Meyer of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Joan Cameron and husband Robert of Dunbar, NE; Ruth Niemann and husband Larry of Denver, IA; brother-in-law, Bernard Bliefernich of Kearney, NE; sisters-in-law, Berdine Julifs of Lincoln, NE; Ellinor Hoehne of Sterling, NE. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Meyer, brother, Richard Julifs, sister, Elaine Bliefernich.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. William Dressen officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 20th from 9 AM until 9 PM, Thursday, February 21st from 9 AM until 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6 PM until 7:30 PM and Friday, February 22nd from 9 AM until 11 AM all at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Rural Burr, NE.
