November 17, 1936 – April 19, 2018
Neoma Mae Colerick was born 11-17-36 in Auburn Nebraska to Lawrence Milo (Mike) Colerick and Barbara Jean Hoover Colerick.
The family moved to Iowa and then to rural Louisville where she attended school and graduated from Louisville High School in 1954 and Lincoln School of Commerce in 1962. She attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln receiving her associates degree in early childhood education. She was the owner and daycare provider of PeeWee Palace in Malcolm. She provided daycare to many families in the area for several years, retiring when she was 79 years old.
Neoma married Dennis Petschke in 1968 and helped raise his three children, Deborah, Dwayne and Doug. They were later divorced .
Neoma was an active member of the Crounse Friendship Club and the Senior Citizens Group. Her latest project was working on the history of Malcolm.
She was her family's historian. She made her sister and nieces and nephews a scrapbook detailing the ancestry of the Colerick/Hoover/Sheehan families. Neoma enjoyed volunteering, gardening and her beloved pets.
She is survived by her sister and brother in law , Sharon and Jerry Sheehan of Louisville, Ne, nieces and nephews, Rocky/Linda Sheehan of Springview, Ne, Renee' Sheehan/Wes Redden of Weeping Water, Ne, Shelly/Rick Wilson of Avoca, Ne and Russ Sheehan of Ashland, Ne.
Memorial services will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church 222 Walnut Street, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at Riverview Cemetery. Family suggest memorials to Nebraska Humane Society and the Malcolm High School Drama Club.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. all at the funeral home.
