Funeral Date changed due to possible weather.

Norma J. Anderson, 89 of Syracuse, passed away on January 20, 2021 at the Syracuse Hospital. She was born to Spencer & Lucy (Blakely) Bates on March 28, 1931 in Tecumseh. Norma graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1949, where she participated in cheerleading.

Norma married John Mahar on May 28, 1950. After John passed away in 1962 she got remarried to Lloyd Anderson on May 20,1972. Norma took many jobs to take care of the family including doing billing at the City Hall in Tecumseh. She was also active in the community helping with the Food Pantry, United Methodist Women, American Legion Aux. and founding AA in Syracuse where she led it for 40 years. Norma enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing, quilting and was a Blue Star Mom.

She is survived by her Daughter: Bette Rabstejnek of Table Rock; Son: Pat Mahar of Syracuse; Granddaughter: Katie Mahar of Syracuse; also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husbands, Grandson: Aaron Rabstejnek; Siblings: Charles Bates, Helen McPherrin, Bette Morrissey, Mildred James, Bob Bates and Mary Alice Bossong, also nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A public funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 26th at 11 A.M. at the Syracuse United Methodist Church. Masks are required. Burial will follow in the Tecumseh Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24th from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
