Norma Jean (Salberg) Beck, 86, of Louisville, Nebraska, passed away November 8, 2014. She was born October 21, 1928 on a farm near Mynard, Nebraska, to Walter and Edna (Schoeman) Salberg. Norma graduated from Murdock High School in 1945. After graduation, Norma attended Business School at Commercial Extension in Omaha. She was employed with the Poultry Division of Safeway Stores as a Secretary and Clerk from 1946 through 1956. In 1950, Norma married Earl Beck and to this union they raised three sons. After her sons were grown, Norma went to work at the Louisville Care Center. Norma was an active member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Louisville all her life. Norma was a devoted wife, mother, and friend and will be dearly missed by many.
Norma is survived by her sons, John and wife Nancy of Castle Pines, CO, James and wife Nikki of Louisville, NE, Jeffrey and friend Shelly Staack of Louisville, NE; grandchildren: Travis Beck, Molly Beck, Nick Barkhurst, Danni Barkhurst, Makala and husband Andrew Neal and their daughter Bella; brother, Sherman Salberg and wife Jackie of Avoca, NE; sister-in-law, Mae Grell, Louisville, NE; and nieces and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by husband, Earl.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 14, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, 222 Walnut Street, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at Emmanuel Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Women, Louisville, Nebraska.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends at the Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
