Norma Mae Wellsandt, 93 of Syracuse, formerly of Talmage, passed away on December 30, 2024, at the Syracuse Hospital. She was born on October 4, 1931, in Nebraska City to Herman and Alma (Schreiner) Huss. On April 12, 1955, Norma married Delbert Wellsandt at St. Paul's Lutheran Church near Talmage.

Norma was a devoted homemaker and mother. She also worked at the Otoe County National Bank and Kimmel Orchard in Nebraska City. She was involved in her community, volunteering at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center and the Syracuse Area Health Thrift Shop, and was a member of the Tri-County Homemakers Extension Club. Norma was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage, NE and women's circle. She enjoyed gathering with friends for card parties, but will be remembered most for her love of family.

She is survived by her children Larry (Kris) Wellsandt, Gary (Deb) Wellsandt, Kurt (Kim) Wellsandt, Donna Wellsandt; grandchildren Mark (Janelle) Wellsandt, Brian Wellsandt, Tiffany (Vince) Meyer, Chelsea (Chris) Saathoff, Mason (Amanda) Wellsandt, Tessa (Caleb) Pelster; great grandchildren Sawyer & Brenna Mae Meyer, Reagan & Collin Saathoff, Haiden & Vivian Wellsandt, Layna & Josslyn Pelster; siblings Ruby Meyer, Alice (Rinehart) Kruse, Darrell (Cheryl) Huss; sister-in-law Phyllis Wellsandt; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Delbert, sister Rose & Carl Gawart; and brothers-in-law Leonard Meyer, Fredrick & Gladys Wellsandt and Eldon Wellsandt.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage. The service will be livestreamed on the Faith Lutheran Church Facebook page. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in rural Talmage. Lunch is planned at the Talmage Community building following the interment.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
