Norman C. Duncan was born to Charles & Mary (Mizer) Duncan on May 6, 1938 in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived in Moville, IA. At the age of 12 he moved to Elk Creek, NE with his dad and sister Blossom to farm after his mom passed away when he was 1 year old. Before moving to Elk Creek his grandparents and aunts helped raise him. Once he moved to the farm he started helping work on the farm. He graduated from Elk Creek in 1957. In 1959 Norman joined the National Guard and served for 4 years.

Norman had two children Michael & Larry, and then he got remarried to Rose Ann Maloy and they had two more children, Connie & Brian. They lived in Lincoln where he worked at a service station and even leased his own for two years. His longest job was at Ace Hardware Warehouse in Lincoln for 32 years. He worked at Ace Hardware along with being part time at service stations and snow removal for a Realty company. He and his family lived in Panama from 1976-1983 and moved to Unadilla in Aug. 1983. After retiring in 2006 he was still active especially in the summer by mowing yards, etc... He also loved nature and was an avid supporter of bluebirds across Nebraska by maintaining over 100 bluebird boxes. He was an active member in the Panama Presbyterian Church and then the Unadilla Methodist Church. He loved God and had a great faith that he shared. One of his biggest sorrows was when his daughter, Connie, passed in 1998.

Norman is survived by his wife Rose Ann of Unadilla, Sons:  Michael (Gina) of Lincoln, Larry (Kim) of Lincoln, Brian (Cari) of Sawyer, ND; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and brother-in-law: Ralph (Jan) Maloy.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Duncan, daughter Connie, two infant brothers and a sister Blossom.

Visitation will be Friday April 6 from 9 until 9 with family present 6 until 8 at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Funeral Service is Saturday, April 7 at 10:30 AM at United Methodist Church in Unadilla, NE, with burial at the Unadilla Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Unadilla Methodist Church or Unadilla Fire and Rescue
