Oda J. Goering was born November 23, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, to Earl and Oda (Woodruff) Shoemaker. She died Friday, March 11, 2016 at Homestead Center, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 17 days.

Oda married William "Bill" Goering, on July 30, 1961, in Auburn, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 7 children; Pam, Jack, Paul, Bill, Mary, Mindy, and Susan. She loved crocheting, flower gardens, cross word puzzles, chewing gum, and her grandbabies - rocking and singing them to sleep. She also enjoyed being outside, drives with Bill, and reading romance novels. Oda made the best chocolate and banana pie, and bread pudding.

Oda is survived by her 7 children, Pam Clymer, of Elmwood, NE, Jack and wife Wanda Goering, of Plainsville, KS, Paul Goering and special friend Callie Martin, of Elm Creek, NE, Bill and wife Emilee Goering, of Nebraska City, NE, Mary Glantz, of Avoca, NE, Mindy and husband Jeff Greenrod, of Lincoln, NE, Susan and husband Mike Kerr, of Weeping Water, NE, 33 grandchildren, Brandy, Kari, Shane, Jennifer Clymer, Richard, Mitchell, Nathaniel, Phillip, Shelby Goering, Amanda, William, Zach, Braden, Savannah, Dalton, Clarissa, Adriana Goering, Allison, Austin, Anthony Glantz, Arielle (A.J.), Jacob, Caleb, Jackson, Kaeden, Holden, Aleigha Greenrod, Christian, Izzabelle, Steve, Ashley Kerr, 23 great grandchildren, Kyle, Connor, Kaden, Cole, Ethan, Alexis; Aspen; Alivia, Zoey; Kaden, Tayab, Masheala, Destiny, Hunter, Logan; Abriella, Dominic, Jordan; Steve, Dominic, Maria; Eric; along with sister Charlotte Wagner, and brothers Richard Shoemaker, Ernest Shoemaker, and Harold Shoemaker, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Oda is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill in 1999, and brother-in-law Danny.

Funeral will be Saturday, March 19th at 10:30 A.M. at First Congregational Church, UCC, 204 North Elm, Weeping Water, Nebraska, with burial at Hopewell Cemetery, Unadilla, Nebraska. Family suggest memorials in lieu of flowers to American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be Friday, March 18, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. to greet family and friends.
