Patsy Lou (Ham) Hemje passed away on August 13, 2012 in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 74. Pat was born October 31, 1937 to Ernest & Blanche Ham at Clay Center, NE. She was baptized and confirmed. She lived her childhood on a farm near Saronville. She graduated from Sutton High School, Cottey College, and Kearney State College. Received a Master Degree from Doane College.

Pat met her husband Don at Kearney State. They were married August 10, 1958. They lived in Lexington, Dorrance, KS, and Byron, NE. where they taught school. In 1968 they moved to Syracuse. She taught in the Syracuse schools for 27 years. Pat enjoyed being around children. Her life was devoted to her family and church. She served her church as a Sunday School teacher, circle member, and church council.

Mourning her death are: Husband Don Hemje of Syracuse, NE, Sons: Craig & Tammi Hemje of Syracuse, NE; Clark & Amy Hemje of Unadilla, NE; Grandchildren: Nathan & Aaron Hemje of Syracuse, NE; Sisters: Jean Driewer of Aurora, NE; Shirley Van Gronigen & husband Rich of Sutton, NE; Brother: Howard Ham of Texas; Also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, and daughter Jodi and niece Kathy.

Funeral Services will be Saturday August 18, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Nebraska. Private family burial will be at a later time.

Visitation will be Friday, August 17, 2012 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. at the funeral home. No viewing due to a closed casket.
