Patricia Joan Buzzard, age 76 of Harlan, Iowa, formerly of Louisville, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Hansen House in Harlan, Iowa. Patricia was born on December 5, 1946, in Nebraska City, Nebraska, to her parents Irus H. Gerdes and Mildred R. Payton.

She grew up in Louisville, Nebraska, cherishing the values instilled in her by her parents. On July 20, 1996, Patricia exchanged vows with the love of her life, Carl Ray Buzzard, in a heartfelt ceremony at the United Methodist Church in Louisville, Nebraska.

Throughout her life, Patricia found fulfillment in her work and touched the lives of many. She was the proud owner of Pat's Parlor Beauty Salon, where she showcased her talents as a hairstylist. In addition to her work at the salon, Patricia also served as the Head of Laundry at the Louisville Care Center, where her dedication and attention to detail left a lasting impact on the residents and staff.  Patricia's unwavering work ethic and determination were always evident in everything she pursued.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Patricia had a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Cards, and her competitive spirit always made these gatherings exciting for all involved. Patricia looked forward to attending the Country Music Festival in Weeping Water, Nebraska, where she immersed herself in the melodies she loved. Fishing brought her moments of tranquility and joy.

Patricia's crocheting skills were remarkable, and she lovingly created numerous outfits and blankets for her grandchildren, leaving them with cherished heirlooms. She valued family above all else and delighted in hosting big family gatherings during holidays, ensuring that love and togetherness were celebrated.

She is survived by her children, Tammy Poldberg of Elk Horn, IA, Diana (Scott) Wildrick of Jacksonville, FL, Karen (Randy) Duryea of Piedmont, SD, step daughter, Isabelle Regan of Holy Yoke, CO.  11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, sisters, Julie (John) Proksel of Blair, NE, Marge (Terry) Chesney of Chicago, IL, brother, Ralph (Mary) Gerdes of Alva, OK, sister-in-law, Marilyn Gerdes of Rapid City, SD.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband Carl, sons, Dennis Jones & Tim Jones, granddaughters Olivia and Tyna, sister, Katherine (Ray) Haynie, Brother, John Gerdes .

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Louisville United Methodist Church with Pastor Dean McPherson Officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

The family will greet friends on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Louisville, Nebraska.
