Phyllis D. Petersen was born August 30, 1929, in Dunbar, Nebraska, to Fredrick & Charlotte (Griesewell) Gunn. She left us on Friday, February 2, 2012, at the Community Memorial Hospital Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 3 days.

Phyllis married Clarence M. Petersen, on April 23, 1955, in Avoca, Nebraska. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at American Meter in Nebraska City for 30 years. Phyllis also worked at Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ Women's Fellowship , VFW Auxiliary, and worked the Red Cross Canteen.

She is survived by her Husband C.M. Petersen of Syracuse, NE, Sisters: Lois & Ray Wellman and Marcia Daffer both of Syracuse, NE, Many nieces & nephews and Great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday February 6 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 511 7th Street, Syracuse, Nebraska, with Graveside services at 2:00 P.M at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Food Bank or St. John's United Church of Christ

Visitation will be Sunday February 5 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 2 until 4 P.M. at the funeral home.
