Phyllis was born September 17, 1931, in Unadilla, Nebraska, to Floyd & Iva (Taylor) Isaacs. She passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 79 years, 3 months, and 21 days.

Phyllis married Vernon Pickerill, on April 8, 1950, in Unadilla, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 5 children Lynn, Linda, Mary, Brenda, and James. She was a member of Unadilla Christian Church, Circle #2, Mid-Otoe County V.F.W. #5547 Auxiliary, South Russell Extension Club, Russell Creek 4-H Leader, Volunteer at the Unadilla Community Library. Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, cooking, baking, and trips to Walmart.

Surviving family includes Son: Lynn Pickerill and wife Edith of Unadilla, NE; Daughters: Linda Amstuz and husband Dennis of Minden, NE; Mary Pickerill and friend Barry Renz of Kearney, NE; Brenda Schomerus and husband Gayle of Syracuse, NE; Grandchildren: Susann Wenzl, Nathan Pickerill, Emily Shubeck, Sam Pickerill, Jesse Pickerill, Trent Amstuz, Brett Amstuz, Derek Amstuz, Alyssa Anthony, Ashley Anthony, Connor Schomerus. 5 Great Grandchildren, Brothers: Darrel Isaacs and wife Beverly of Beatrice, NE; John Isaacs and wife Darlene of Unadilla, NE; Sister: Wretha Isaacs of Syracuse, NE. as well as numerous other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband Vernon (1994) and Infant son James Earl.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Unadilla Christian Church, Unadilla, Nebraska, with burial at the Unadilla Cemetery, Unadilla, Nebraska. Family suggests memorials to the Unadilla Christian Church or the Unadilla Community Library.

Visitation will be Monday, January 10, from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and Tuesday, January 11th, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 5:00 - 7:00 at the Funeral Home. Casket will be open one hour befor services at the Church.
