Obituary

Phyllis I. Pickering, 91 of Beatrice, formerly Syracuse, passed away on August 5, 2014 at the Beatrice Health and Rehab Center. She was born on February 6, 1923 to Jake & Ruth (Baldwin) Baker in Lincoln, NE.

Phyllis worked at the Russell Stover factory as a candy dipper. She married Evart Pickering on January 21, 1945 in Palmyra, NE. After they were married they worked together on their farm south of Unadilla. She traveled from coast to coast in the U.S. even going to Hawaii and Alaska. Most of the trips she took on their motorcycle. She loved to spend time with her granddaughters. She also enjoyed gardening and watching the birds.

She is survived by her Daughter: Celia & Tony Ebbers of Beatrice, Granddaughters: Bobbi Millwood & Taylor Millwood of Lincoln, Lauren Millwood of Beatrice, also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband: Evart, Daughter: Ila, Parents, Sisters: Leta Hans & Elaine Barker.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday August 8 at 2 P.M. at the Unadilla United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
