Ralph H. Grundman, 93 of rural Talmage, passed away in Syracuse on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017. He was born Feb. 20, 1924 to Frederick H. & Lydia (Lueck) Grundman. His mother died before he was 2 years old and he was raised by an aunt & uncle Fred & Marie Lueck. He was baptized & confirmed at Zion Evangelical Reformed church in Talmage. Ralph attended grade school in Dist. 51 near Talmage and also in Council Bluffs, IA. He graduated as Salutatorian from Talmage Public School on May 14, 1942. He then attended a Farm Operator Course at UNL.

Before & after his marriage he farmed near Syracuse & Talmage. Ralph married Ruby B. Ebert on June 5, 1947 at North Branch Church. Four daughters & two sons were born to this marriage. He held all the offices on the McWilliams Church Board and also sang in the choir. He also served on Dist. 88 rural School Board.

Survived by his wife of 70 years Ruby Grundman; Daughters: Elaine (Gerald) Moore of Lincoln, Donna (Edward) Damme of Talmage, Karen (Lester) Roeber of Ashland, Dianne (Jim) Bohlken of Lincoln; Sons: Richard (Christine) Grundman of Lincoln, Ronald (Marybeth) Grundman of Talmage; 15 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; Sisters-in-law: Irma Grundman, Viola Gartner, Lois Ebert; Brother-in-law: Jack Stilwell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Vernon Grundman, brother & sister-in-law: Norbert & Edna Grundman, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Pauline & Herb Goad, Ralph Gartner, Charles Ebert and Maxine Stilwell.

Visitation: Friday, Oct. 27 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Funeral services: Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2 P.M. at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Chapel in Syracuse. Additional family visitation will be held during the luncheon at St. John's UCC located at 511 7 ^th St. in Syracuse at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be held at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.
