Ralph Jaspring was born May 21, 1918, in rural Syracuse, Nebraska, to Fred and Leona (Goos) Jaspring. He passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Center, in Auburn, Nebraska, at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 23 days.

Ralph married Opal Thiele, on December 20, 1938, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, in Syracuse, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 3 children Robert, Norman, and Janice. He was baptized on, June 16th, 1918, and was confirmed on, May 8, 1932 at Luther Memorial Church, in Syracuse, NE. He farmed all of his life, even after moving to town in 1977. Ralph enjoyed flying, camping, fishing, and tractor pulling,(and rebuilt many tractors). Ralph and Opal enjoyed wintering in Phoenix AZ.

Ralph is survived by his wife Opal, children Robert of Lincoln, NE, Norman and wife Pat, of Syracuse, NE, and Janice and husband Hank Potthoff, of Carroll, IA, grandchildren Mike and Becky Jaspring, of Lennox, SD, Michele and Darin Ziemann, of Syracuse, NE, Tony Potthoff, of Carroll, IA, Tina and Mike Curtis, of Carroll, IA, and Marci and Scott Lorenzen, of Omaha, NE, great Grandchildren Christa, Rachel, Brittany, Daniel, Michaela, and David Jaspring, Cade and Taya Curtis, and Casey Lorenzen.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Leona Jaspring, and brothers Clarence, Eldon, and Delmar.

Ralph's Funeral will be Thursday, March 19, 2009 At 10:30 A.M. at the Luther Memorial
Lutheran Church, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at Parkhill Cemetery, Syracuse. Family Suggests Memorials to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church / Alzheimer's Assoc.
