Raymond "Tom" B. Royal, 95 of Syracuse, passed away on February 20, 2022, at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. He was born on March 2, 1926, to Herman & Elizabeth (Kempkes) Royal near Palmyra. On August 14, 1947, he married Marion Whitehead at St. Paulinus Catholic Church. Tom was a lifelong farmer in Otoe county, which brought him immense joy.

He is survived by his wife Marion Royal; children Gary (Joyce) Royal, Connie (Jim) Larkin of Alabama; grandchildren Randy (Lesley) Royal, Heather (Frank) Heath, Vincent Larkin, Tom Royal, Amy Steggall; great grandchildren Josh Royal, Raven Heath, Mason Royal, Jake Royal, Ian Heath, Ari Larkin, Hallie Larkin; sister-in-law Doris Royal; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded by his parents and 10 siblings and their spouses.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church in Syracuse. It will be livestreamed on the St. Paulinus Facebook page. Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 23 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse. Family will then greet friends from 6-7 p.m. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m.

Memorials are suggested to the Syracuse Backpack Program or St. Paulinus Catholic Church.
