Raymond Ullsperger, age 88 of Douglas, NE passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
Raymond was born on January 8, 1924 on a farm near Cook, NE to Louis & Matilda (Gottwald) Ullsperger. He attended country school near Sterling, NE.
Raymond married Beth Smith of Shennandoah, IA on November 24, 1948. To this marriage 3 daughters were born- Linda (David) Verhage of Crawford, NE, Karen (Steve) Pester of Palmyra, NE and Susan (Kenny) Burbee of Talmage, NE.
Raymond grew up on a farm north of Sterling. After he married he lived on a farm east of Douglas for almost 64 years. Raymond received an award for conservation practices in 1992.
Some of Raymond's hobbies were collecting gold pocket watches and going to auctions.
He loved spending time at family gatherings with his kids, grandkids and great-grandchildren.
Besides his daughters left to mourn his passing are his wife Beth of Douglas, NE, grandchildren- Jason (Nicole) Calkins of Palmyra, Erin (Eugene) Arguello of Talmage, NE, Nick Calkins of Douglas, NE, Cristan (Cesar) Lopez of Auburn, NE, Margaret (Kayce) Foster of Talmage, NE and Echo Pester of Palmyra, NE, 11 great grandchildren and sister Marie DeRoe of Syracuse, NE. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved pet Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis & Matilda Ullsperger, brother Leo Ullsperger and great granddaughter Avery Arguello.
Memorial Services will be held Friday May 25, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Douglas at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
The family suggests memorials to the Family's Choice.
