Raymond Carl Wellman was born on April 2, 1921 to Fred & Caroline (Holtgrewe) Wellman. He passed away at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 7 months, and 20 days.

Raymond married Lois Gunn on May 16, 1949 at the Congregational Church in Avoca, Nebraska. He farmed his whole life in the Syracuse area. Raymond joined the Air Force in 1942 and served until 1946. Ray was very involved at St. John's United Church of Christ, American Legion Post 100 and the Farm Bureau.

Raymond is survived by his wife Lois Wellman, daughter Diane (Danny) Kepler, son Steven (Susan) Wellman, grandchildren Jason (Amy) Kepler, Adam Kepler, Sarah Wellman, Tyler Wellman, great grandchild Libby sister Mabel Kruse; brother-in-law CM Petersen; sister-in-law Marcia Daffer; nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Caroline Wellman; sister-in-law Pansy (Paul Berner; Phyllis Petersen; brothers-in-law Gary Daffer, Joy Kruse


Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 26 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Syracuse. Burial will be held at Park Hill Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial to St. John's United Church of Christ or Syracuse Good Samaritan Center.

Visitation will be on Sunday November 25 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 2 until 4 P.M. at the funeral home.
