Obituary
Richard A. Eis was born on June 9, 1931 in Rural Douglas, Nebraska to Albert and Christina (Hofker) Eis. He passed away on Firday, April 16th, 2010, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 78 years, 10 months, and 7 days.
Richard attended and graduated from Unadilla Public Schools. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1948, and served until 1952. He was united in marriage to Helen Wenninghoff on January 3, 1952, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, in Syracuse, Nebraska.
He worked for 30 years as an electrician in the Lincoln Area and slo worked for Electro Gas Company in Syracuse, Nebraska. He was a member of the Massie Richards Post #100 American Legion in Syracuse where he served as commander in 1985. He also served on the Unadilla Community Fellowship and was a member of the Unadilla Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Above all else, he enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife Helen Eis of Unadilla, Nebraska, sons Randy Eis and friend Joni, of Unadilla, Nebraska, Tom Eis and wife Rhonda, of Beatrice, Nebraska, daughter Gail Ross and huband Mike, of Dunbar, Nebraska, grandchildren, Jeremy Eis and fianc`ee Ashley Peterson, Erin Kreifels and husband Dustin, Krista Eis, Ryan Eis, Mitchell Ross, Caitlin Eis, sister Maxine Kearn and husband Harold, of Concordia, KS, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ron & Mary Wenninghoff, of Unadilla, NE, Margery Koch, of Syracuse NE Violet Whiteaker of Kansas City, MO, and Norman Neemann, of Palmyra, NE, also numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruth Stoner, and Joyce Neemann and brother, Raymond Eis.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 10:30 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse, Nebraska.
Visitation will be Monday, April 19, 2010, from 9:00 A.M. until 9 P.M. , and the Casket will be one hour before services at the Church.
Memorials may be directed to the Family.
