Richard H. Frech (Dick), 1917-2011 Syracuse, NE.; husband of Madeline (Frees). Son of Henry (Harry) and Lydia (Heeman) Frech; brother of Robert G. and wife Doris (Carter) Frech deceased. Father of Thomas and wife Peggy (Ried) Frech, Syracuse, NE; James E. and wife Mary K. (Grief )Frech, Bethesda, MD; and daughter Judith E. Frech, Westfield, MA.
Dick was raised in Norwood, OH and attended the University Of Cincinnati, OH; was honorably discharged from the Army/Air Force after serving throughout WW II working in computers, stateside, in support of those fighting overseas. As a computer specialist, Dick worked with flow charts and setting up computers in Union Central Life Insurance Co., Bureau of Public Dept., Wright Aeronautical, and G.E. – all in the Cincinnati areas. He ended his 25 years with G.E. in Burlington, VT. And retired to Orange City, FL with his wife, Madeline, enjoying the weather and lots of golf. He moved to Nebraska to live with his son and family due to failing health. Richard was a longtime ten-pin bowler, and avid golfer (with one hole-in-one to his credit). He was a car buff, a cigar smoker and card player; a volunteer coach of a Knothole baseball team in Golf Manor, OH; and a lifetime follower of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team, and later the Orlando Magic basketball team.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother; step-brother Paul Kromme; brothers-in-law Robert Irvin, William E. Frees, Robert Robertson; sister-in-law Augusta (Frees) Irvin; nephews Tim and Tom Frech and niece Barbara (Irvin) Smith.
He is survived by his wife and children; sisters-in-law Trudy (Frees) Robertson, Cincinnati and Mary (Dornette) Frees, Kettering, OH; brother-in-law Richard C. Frees, Petaluma, CA; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grand children; 2 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family service.
