Richard L. Sutherland, 85 of Syracuse, passed away on March 29, 2020 at home. He was born on January 6, 1935 to Paul & Helen "Louise" Sutherland in Oskaloosa, IA. Richard married Deloris Scott on September 4, 1992 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, NE.

Richard retired from the Steamfitter Union #464. He was known as quite the handyman, including carpentry, construction, mechanics and masonry work. He really could do it all. He also really enjoyed making Deloris beautiful flower garden ponds. Richard's grandkids enjoyed hanging out with him and will cherish everything that he taught them. He enjoyed watching football, being a "Foodie" and spending time with his dog Cody.

He is survived by his Wife: Deloris Sutherland; Children: Larry (Sharon) Hall, Serita (Bill) Hopkins, Jeannine Behrends, Eddie (Keri) Hall, April Hall, Samantha Hall; Nieces: Teresa Stoeffler Heck, Debbie VanSickle; also many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Son: Dennis and Sisters: Donna Stoeffler & Joice Miller.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
