Robert "Bob" Bruns, 69 of Syracuse, died on May 22, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 2, 1948 to Ernest & Dolores (Steinhoff) Bruns in Lincoln. Bob married Kathy Vrana on June 7, 1969 in Syracuse.

He served in the National Guard from 1966 until 1972. Bob was the owner of Bruns Construction Inc. He was a member of the American Legion Post #100, Syracuse Snowflakers, Otoe County Mustang Saddle Club, Quarter Horse Association, Luther Memorial and Southeastern Nebraska Tractor Pullers. He was also the Syracuse SPUDS Softball Coach. Bob loved his daughters and grandchildren and was very involved with all their activities.

He is survived by his Wife: Kathy Bruns; Daughters: Amy & Tim Frederick and children: Shae, Christian & Shyanne, Corie & Kirk Gorton and sons: Jake & Ty; Sister: Nancy Olson; Parents-in-law: Don & Gladys Vrana; Sisters-in-law: Laurie & Jim Deseck, Becky & Doug Antes, Mary Beth & Dave McWilliams; Aunts: Helen Aden, Pauline Peterson; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 26 at 10 A.M. at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. at Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Home, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family to start an annual scholarship in Bob's name for an American Legion Post #100 baseball player.
