Robert "Bob" Chapman was born July 21, 1946 in Perry Iowa, to Ivan and Magdalene (Walker) Chapman. He died Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Bryan East Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, and 15 days.
Bob joined the United States Army on September 19, 1967 until September 18, 1969, he was a member of American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Melody Gakemeier on December 23, 1981 at the Murdock Methodist Church. Bob worked as a truck driver, an operator at Greenwood COOP's Manley branch, and as a maintenance technician at an assisted living facility in Lincoln. He is a member of the Trinity Cemetery Board, Steward, former Mayor of Murdock, Nebraska, former Murdock Fireman, loved working with HO scale trains, wood working, and puzzles.
Bob is survived by his wife Melody, of Murdock, NE, sons Bill (Lois), of Des Moines, IA, Doug (Jan), of Boone, IA, Travis (Michelle), of Eaton, CO. 8 grandchildren Joslyn, Jessica, BriAnn, Benjamin, Clayton, John, Mitchell, and Daniel, 3 great grandchildren Vincent, Ava, Winry, and his brothers Steve (Shirley), Dan (friend Beth), and Tim (Amy), nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Bob is preceded in Death by his parents Ivan and Magdalene Chapman, and son Christopher Lee Chapman.
Funeral service will be **Private family service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with **Public Graveside services at 10:45 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Cemetery or Murdock Fire Department.
Visitation Friday, August 7, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Chapel Elmwood, Nebraska with the family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Social distancing and masks are requested due to State DHM.
