Frederickson

Robert "Dick" Frederickson was born on November 5, 1922 in Alta, Iowa to Hubert and Nina (Smith) Frederickson. He passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2107 at his home in Louisville at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 21 days.
Dick served his country in the Army from February 12, 1941 to July 8, 1945. While serving, he received the American Defense Service Ribbon with a Bronze Star, a Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with Bronze Star. He married Pauline Gruber on September 15, 1944 in Elsworth, Kansas. Together they raised three children – Susan, Bob, and Tom. He was a loyal member of the First United Methodist Church in Louisville. Dick worked at Ash Grove Cement Plant as a foreman in the truck garage. He enjoyed many hobbies, such as cars, gardening, history, and barbequing. He grew tomatoes, green beans, and cabbage, as well as beautiful flowers to enjoy and share with others. Dick enjoyed walking cemeteries learning about past history of many people. He loved to barbeque turkeys. Most of all he loved being around his family.
He is survived by his daughter Susan Johnson-Partch and husband Douglas of LaVista, NE, sons and daughters-in-law Bob and wife Bobbie Frederickson, of Murdock, NE, and Tom and wife Sheila Frederickson, of Louisville, NE, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and brother-in-law Ernie Gruber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pauline, sister Phyllis, brother Donavon, son-in-law Kenneth Johnson, and grandson Joseph Johnson
Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church 222 Walnut, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at a later date.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Shrine, First United Methodist Church, Louisville, or to Charity of the givers choice.
