Robert "Bob" E. Grant, 87 of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. He was born on February 13, 1931 to Merle V. & Opal L. (Harger) Grant at their home in rural Lancaster County.

Bob married Hilda Jean Allen on March 1, 1952. He later married Eileen M. (Nelson) Stroud on January 20, 1979 at the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Lincoln. Bob served in the Naval Air Reserve for 6 years. He worked as a Pressman for the Omaha World Herald. He was a member of the Cornhusker Music Club, Graphic Communications International Local 32 – Omaha and St. John's United Church of Christ. Bob was a gifted country music player and could play anything with strings. He also enjoyed repairing instruments.

He is survived by his Wife: Eileen Grant of Syracuse; Children: Sherry (Greg) Dively, Cathy Broda, Charlene Schumacher, Connie Grant-Leanna; Sister: Sharon (Jerry) Shedlosky; Step-Children: Michael (Linda) Stroud, Julie (David) Zahn; 17 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, brother & sister-in-law: Vernon (Cathy) Grant and grandchild: Michael Schumacher.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 17 at 2 P.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse. Private inurnment will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery in rural Ceresco at a later time.

Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to Friends of the Syracuse Library.
