Robert Paul Meyer age 91 of Louisville, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025, just two days before his 92nd birthday. Robert was born on April 8, 1933 in Avoca, Nebraska to Paul Andrew and Mary Katherine (Sheehan) Meyer.
Robert was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Sluyter and together they built a beautiful life and loving family while raising six children. Robert was a hardworking individual who enjoyed being a farmer, raising cattle, and riding horses. Robert was the General Manager for the Foxley Cattle Company for a number of years. He was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing and trap shooting. Robert was a 4H Leader for many years for the Bridle and Saddle Horse Club. He enjoyed watching his children compete in horse shows and attending rodeos. Robert was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Short Horn Cattle Association.
Robert is survived by his six children: Sharon Brink (David) of Plattsmouth, Jim Meyer (Peggy) of Syracuse, Susan Meyer of Louisville, Vicki Mack (Hal) of Louisville, Doug Meyer (Michelle) of Auburn, and Robert Meyer (Kerri) of Pleasant Dale. 13 grandchildren: Steven Robert Brink (Jodi), David J. Brink, James Robert Meyer (Lisa), Kelly Goertz (John), Jodi Josoff (Tom), Allison Mixan (Andy), Christine Hamilton (Ben), Douglas Charles Meyer, Brent Adam Meyer (Jayme), Candace Kelly (Chad), Natalie Menichetti (Justin), Robert Edward Meyer (Jenna), Matthew Hunter Meyer (Lindsey), 40 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Sisters: Mary Lou Zoz of Murdock, Ruth Ann Gansemer (Duane) of Syracuse, brother Terry Meyer (Betty) of Manley and sister-in-law Kathy Meyer of Manley and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friend, Shirley Stohlmann of Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Meyer, his beloved wife of 46 years, Shirley Ann Meyer, his brother Tom Meyer and brother-in-law Bill Zoz.
Visitation with family greeting friends will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic in Manley, NE on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM.
Mass of a Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Manley, NE.
