Robert "Bob" Raymond Roettger was born January 17, 1934, to Raymond and Sophia (Ruge) Roettger at their home in Otoe, NE. He passed away at the Ambassador Home in Nebraska City, NE on January 16, 2025, at the age of 90. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, Nebraska where he was a member. Bob served in the Nebraska National Guard in Nebraska City.

Bob lived most of his adult life in Nebraska City, NE. He retired from Consolidated Blenders elevator and then worked part time at the Cider House Laundry. He enjoyed helping people and loved to tease them. Bob loved to travel, he enjoyed a bus trip to Florida, riding along with his trucker friends to California and visits to the Nebraska and Iowa state fairs with his friend Bill.

Bob loved his family. He is survived by his sisters Joann Sauberzweig and Karen Kuenning as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane Roettger, sister Colleen Thayer, brothers-in-law Hans Sauberzweig and Richard Kuenning and his nephew Martin Sauberzweig.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe. Burial will follow at the Otoe Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the Otoe Cemetery.
