Robert "Bob" Stander, was born September 22, 1932, in rural Cass County, to Frank Edward & Sophie (Meyer) Stander. He passed away, on Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 80 years 7 months, and 17 days.

Bob married Patricia Schmitz, at St. Columbkille, on October 20, 1955, in Papillion, Nebraska, and to this union they raised four children, Robin, Cindy, Jeff, and Tom. He worked as a farmer, but drove trucks for over 40 years. Bob survived in the United States Navel Air, from 1952 until 1955, he was a member of American Legion Post # 237, Weeping Water, Nebraska, and the F.O.E. Plattsmouth, Nebraska. I don't think he ever knew a stranger, just friends he had not met yet.

Bob is survived by his wife Pat, of Weeping Water, NE, daughters, Robin Platt, of Elmwood, NE, Cindy (Jerry) Ostdick, of Council Bluffs, IA, sons, Jeff (Cathy) Stander, of Murdock, NE, Tom (Debbie) Stander, of Weeping Water, NE, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brothers Gerald Stander, Jim Stander, Dick Stander, and Clifford Stander, along with nieces, nephews, and many good friends.

Bob is preceded in Death by his parents, and his brother Marvin Stander.

Graveside Service 11;00 A.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Manley, NE, with a 12:30 Celebration of Life, at the Cass County Fair Grounds, Hwy 1 & 144 Street, Weeping Water, NE, please Dress Casually. Family suggests memorials in luie of flowers to the family for later designation.

Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2013 from 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. all at the Funeral Home.
