Roland T. Post was born on June 2, 1929 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Thies and Anna (Reimer Post). He passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2009 at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 29 days.

Roland was raised in rural Syracuse, Nebraska, he attended and graduated from Syracuse High School. After school, he entered the U.S Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Leona Mueller on June 21, 1955. Together they made their home on the family farm near Syracuse, Nebraska. In 1994 after living 65 years on the family farm, Roland and Leona moved to Syracuse. He was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and Massie Richards Post #100 American Legion.

He is survived by: Wife: Leona Post of Syracuse, NE; Sons: Randy Post and wife Cindy of Syracuse, NE; Craig Post and wife Joette of Columbus, NE; Leslie Post and wife Kelli of Seward, NE; David Post and wife Laura of Omaha, NE 10 Grandchildren: Eric, Erin, Austin, Megan, Tyler, Brenda, Sarah, Heather and Collin Post, Justin Johnson and Deidra Rodzielski. Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law: Dorothy Lawson of Lincoln, NE; Kenneth & Alvina Harms of Syracuse, NE; Ben & Pauline Huber of Schuyler, NE; Robert & Shirley Whitney of Lincoln, NE; Kenneth & Janice Mueller of Syracuse, NE. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Brian in 1968 and brother-in-law: Vard Lawson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. Paul Coen and Rev. Mike Widner officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2nd from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Thursday, December 3rd from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, Nebraska
